Game prototype and video

The prototype version of Hell Racers is available for download here. Check it out!

Also, check out the new gameplay video of our game that I created while experimenting with and learning Adobe Premiere:

Music: Two Steps From Hell - Dark Ages. All music belongs to them. No copyright infringement intended

I might've gone a little overboard in creating this video; however, I think it was worth it and it definitely helped me learn a little bit about editing videos within Premiere, a program that previously I haven't gotten around to experimenting with before. This knowledge will come in useful when the time comes to create legit trailers for the finished game.

In any case, our game still needs a lot of work to get it where it needs to be. More gameplay elements need to be added -- such as obstacles, more power-ups, and random events. A lot of work in the asset department will need to be done to get the game looking more like what we envisioned it. A lot of tweaking needs to be done, especially with the A.I and the handling of the karts. The track you see in the video will most likely be replaced in future versions of the game as well. It is just a placeholder at the moment. You might've noticed that the track is lacking rails or walls. This will be fixed in future versions of the game, with either snappable rail pieces or the track as a whole being one complete model (which might be the best idea actually).

Though we have achieved much within this semester, especially considering how busy the team was and how many barriers we faced regarding code, we didn't get as far as I originally hoped. It is my hope that as we continue to work on this game through the next semester, that the gameplay will really start to stand out and offer something new and exciting for players of the genre.
